Quick answers to common questions about Really Simple UTM Builder.
Frequently asked questions
Does this work with my page builder?
Yes. The builder is added with a shortcode, which works in Divi, Elementor, the block editor, Gravity Forms, classic widgets, and most other content areas.
Can site visitors see my list of pages?
No. The content picker is shown only to logged-in users. Logged-out visitors see a single field where they paste a URL — they never see your site's content list.
Does the plugin store any of my data?
No. Nothing is saved to your site's database and nothing is sent to a server. Every link is built right in your browser.
Can I put more than one builder on a page?
Yes. You can use the shortcode as many times as you like, on one page or across many. Each builder works independently.
Why are my entries being changed as I type?
That's intentional. The builder enforces a clean naming convention: text is lowercased, spaces become underscores, and unsupported characters are removed. This keeps your campaign names consistent across reports.
Will it slow down my site?
No. The builder's files load only on pages that actually contain the shortcode, and it uses no jQuery.
Troubleshooting
The shortcode shows as plain text instead of the builder.
Make sure you typed it exactly: [rsutm_builder]. If you pasted it into a code block that escapes shortcodes, move it to a standard Shortcode block or Text module instead.
I don't see the content picker — just a URL field.
The picker only appears for logged-in users. If you're logged in and still don't see it, confirm you're viewing the page on the front end (not in the editor preview).
The picker dropdown is empty or missing content.
The picker lists published content only. Drafts, private, and trashed items won't appear. If you used the post_type, taxonomy, or term options, double-check the slugs match content that actually exists.
The Copy button doesn't seem to work.
On older browsers or non-HTTPS sites, the builder falls back to an older copy method. If copying still fails, you can select the generated URL text manually and copy it.
My picker is missing some pages on a very large site.
The picker shows up to 200 items by default for performance. On large sites, ask your developer about the rsutm_picker_max_posts filter, which raises that limit.
